Shoptalk is the world’s largest event for retail and e-commerce innovation, taking place in New York, Las Vegas, Chicago, London, Barcelona, and Abu Dhabi. Shoptalk events are platforms for large retailers, startups, tech companies, and investors to learn, collaborate and evolve.
Role:
As an Experiential Designer for Shoptalk, I was tasked with creating immersive environments and branded activations that enhanced the attendee experience while delivering value for exhibiting and sponsor brands. 
My role evolved from Experiential Designer to Creative Director, where I led multidisciplinary design teams in New York and London to craft immersive environments and branded activations. My role focuses on managing cohesive event experiences that engage audiences and reinforce Shoptalk’s global reputation.

Experiential Design
For Shoptalk, experiential design centered on crafting engaging, immersive environments that elevated the event experience for attendees and brands. This involved designing branded activations, intuitive wayfinding systems, and visually compelling stage setups. Each element was thoughtfully created to reflect the event's identity, facilitate seamless navigation, and foster meaningful interactions among participants.
Wayfinding and Signage
Wayfinding and signage involve creating clear, intuitive visual cues that guide attendees through an event space. This includes directional signs, maps, interactive kiosks, and environmental markers that ensure attendees can easily locate key areas like registration, sessions, or exhibits.
Interactive Experiences
An interactive experience actively involves participants, encouraging them to engage directly with the elements of the design. Examples include touchscreens, augmented reality installations, or games where users interact with content rather than passively observing it.
Immersive Experiences
An immersive experience goes a step further by fully surrounding participants in a designed environment that engages multiple senses. This could be achieved through dynamic lighting, soundscapes, tactile materials, or virtual reality setups that transport attendees into a branded world. Engaging experiences are highly shareable. Attendees are more likely to take photos, record videos, or post on social media, extending the brand’s visibility beyond the event.
Stage Design
At industry events like Shoptalk, stages serve as pivotal platforms for CEOs, industry leaders, and experts to deliver keynote speeches, engage in panel discussions, and participate in fireside chats. Custom audiovisual setups ensure speakers are seen and heard with clarity, creating a seamless and professional experience. Branded backdrops enhance sponsor visibility, aligning their presence with thought leadership and reinforcing the event's identity.
